How to fill in the application to participate in state grant contest?
1. Before applying, select your favorite educational program at Satbayev University, corresponding to the relevant subjects in which you passed UNT.
2. Write down for yourself the code (column “Groups of educational programs” in the table) of the group of educational programs that includes the program you have chosen.
3. Indicate the group code and code of Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev) in the application for a grant: 029.
The Automation and Control educational program is designed to prepare highly qualified specialists in the fields of automation and control. The program focuses on modern technologies for industrial process automation, intelligent systems, industrial digitalization, and robotic systems.
The curriculum covers all key aspects of the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated process control systems across various industrial sectors.
The course content has been developed in accordance with current trends in industrial automation, enterprise digital transformation, and industry requirements. The program includes such subjects as Object-Oriented Programming, Microprocessor Systems in Control Applications, PLC Programming, Computer Modeling of Automation Systems, Functional Units of Digital Automation, Industrial Networks and Interfaces, SCADA Systems, Distributed Control Systems, IIoT and Industrial Digitalization, Neural Network Technologies for Automation, Modeling and Identification of Control Systems, ERP and MES Systems, as well as other specialized disciplines.
You will:
— develop, implement, test, and operate automated process control systems;
— design automation and control systems for industrial facilities of various purposes;
— program industrial controllers, SCADA systems, and intelligent control systems;
— apply modern digitalization technologies, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and data analytics to improve production efficiency;
— ensure the operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and modernization of automated production complexes;
— gain knowledge of current trends in industrial and process automation.
The Automation and Control program includes three specialization tracks:
Automation & Control focuses on the development of automated control systems, design of industrial networks and interfaces, integration of field devices, development of SCADA systems, PLC programming, and digital transformation of industrial enterprises.
Industrial Automation covers the development and operation of intelligent process control systems, distributed control systems, robotic complexes, and modern production monitoring and supervisory technologies.
Smart Manufacturing & Industrial Digitalization is aimed at the application of IIoT technologies, neural network-based automation methods, computer modeling, and production process analytics to improve the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of industrial facilities.
During their studies, students complete industrial internships at companies such as Schneider Electric, Process Automation, Siemens Kazakhstan, Honeywell, Verbulak, Advantec, Kazatomprom, Kaz Minerals, Kazzinc, Kazphosphate, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, and other engineering and implementation companies specializing in industrial process automation.
Graduates work as engineers responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, commissioning, and optimization of automated control systems and robotic technological complexes across a wide range of industries. They are in demand in the oil and gas, mining, metallurgical, energy, chemical, and manufacturing sectors, as well as in design, research, and engineering organizations.
