  • How to fill in the application to participate in state grant contest?

    1. Before applying, select your favorite educational program at Satbayev University, corresponding to the relevant subjects in which you passed UNT.

    2. Write down for yourself the code (column “Groups of educational programs” in the table) of the group of educational programs that includes the program you have chosen.

    3. Indicate the group code and code of Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev) in the application for a grant: 029.

Program trains specialists in elaborating and executing the advanced technologies, digital transformation of production processes in the oil and gas industry, who are able to manage technological projects and improve the oil-gas sector enterprises efficiency.

Program is designed for 3 years of study; graduates receive the PhD degree. Education is provided in industry-focused track.

Students gain in-depth knowledge in the field of innovative technologies for exploring, developing and operating the oil-gas deposits, intelligent production management systems, digital modeling, automation of technological processes, enhanced oil recovery, development of hard-to-recover reserves, as well as ensuring the industrial and environmental safety.

Training is carried out owing to present-day software systems and digital platforms used by the world's leading oil and gas companies, including Petrel, Eclipse, Techlog, CMG, OLGA, Pipesim, Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB and other specialized software products. Particular attention is paid to the skills of implementing innovative solutions in production processes, technological entrepreneurship and managing the digital transformation of enterprises.

Program provides for professional internships at leading overseas universities, scientific and technological centers and international oil-gas companies with the purpose to study the world's best practices and state-of-the-art industry technologies. As part of the program, students participate in real industrial projects, gaining practical experience in solving urgent problems in the oil-gas industry and implementing modern engineering solutions at enterprises.

Graduates work as engineers for elaborating and operating oil and gas fields, process engineers, production process specialists, digitalization and automation engineers, technical consultants, project managers and heads of production units in oil-gas producing, service and consulting organizations, government agencies and international corporations in the energy sector.
