Satbayev University students have lighted up at Students’ Nauryz Fest

Student Music Festival and “Ethno-Auyl” exhibition was held at Kazakh-British Technical University as part of celebrating the Nauryznama. Teams from the city’s twelve universities gathered here, and Satbayev University students prepared a special program for the festival.

The festival began with "Ethno-Auyl" exhibition-fair, where students were greeted by an art gallery, national treats, master classes in togyzkumalak, drawing, playing the dombra.

After the fair, a festive concert began, which was attended by Satbayev University’s vocal and instrumental ensemble "Meir BAND" and the national military art association "Bes karu" ("Five types of weapons") under the leadership of Daniyar Baydaralin, who demonstrated the mastery of a spear, bow and saber.

"Five types of weapons" is a unique martial art of ancient nomads, preserved on the territory of Kazakhstan for centuries and restored at Satbayev University by historian-enthusiast Daniyar Baydaralin. This ancient art has become an excellent addition to the open-air spring neo-ethno festival, which combined ethno-culture with modern music, fashion, cuisine, crafts and creative youth of Central Asia. The festival also became a platform for creating the collaboration between students of different universities, helped to exchange experiences and ideas in national creativity field.

Celebration of Nauryznama will continue in the following days. So, on March 21, concerts with the participation of pop stars will be held on Astana Square and Abai Square in front of the Palace of the Republic, as well as a large festive procession "Kosh. Nauryz – duman."
