Training of foundry technologists for Kazakhstan’s enterprises working in the field of foundry production, metallurgy and mechanical engineering. Training is conducted based on modern casting methods and appropriate technologies.

Students study engineering and computer graphics, fundamentals of materials science, fundamentals of foundry production, fundamentals of heat treatment and surface hardening, resistance of materials, metallography, methods of structural analysis and quality control, nanostructured materials, dielectric materials, computer modeling in materials science.

The study program includes the technology related to foundry production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, design and production of cast parts, advanced casting methods, equipment and machines of foundry production.

Students learn to design equipment and workshops for casting products, select the mode of thermal and other types of processing of products as well as use the necessary quality analyses of cast products, process materials after casting.

Casting technologists also control and adjust the casting process by selecting or developing casting technologies for a specific type of products, selecting and preparing the necessary materials for casting products.

Graduates of the program work at ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises, machine-building industries, in factory laboratories and industry institutes: in such companies as AZTM, Kazakhmys, Karaganda Steel Plant, Kazzink, Kazferstal, Kazchrome, Arcelor Mittal Temirtau, Aluminum of Kazakhstan, Semipalatinsk Foundry and Mechanical Plant, Makinsky Foundry and Mechanical Plant and so on.
