How to fill in the application to participate in state grant contest?
1. Before applying, select your favorite educational program at Satbayev University, corresponding to the relevant subjects in which you passed UNT.
2. Write down for yourself the code (column “Groups of educational programs” in the table) of the group of educational programs that includes the program you have chosen.
3. Indicate the group code and code of Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev) in the application for a grant: 029.
A training program for specialists in the field of seismological monitoring and analysis of seismic data, followed by solving the scientific and applied issues in seismic hazard assessment, earthquake forecasting, and engineering seismology sphere.
Graduates will receive Master of Engineering degree in both 1 and 1.5 years of study.
Undergraduates study the practical application of modern methods of seismic research, processing and analyzing seismic signals, ensuring continuous seismological monitoring with the provision of processed data to Center for collection and storage of seismological information.
Program covers key areas of applied seismology, including working with seismograms and automated monitoring systems, processing and analyzing seismic data, quantifying seismicity, and predicting earthquakes. Special attention is paid to geo-information systems, as well as the use of satellite and geophysical technologies such as InSAR and DTM to study crustal deformations.
Undergraduates will gain practical skills in working with software for processing seismological data, as well as master methods of seismic zoning to assess seismic hazards and risks.
Graduates receive Master's degree in engineering and technology and can work at National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research, Geophysical Research Institute, Akimats, Departments and Emergency Committees, as well as research institutes.
