Satbayev University students became holders of personalized scholarships
Kazakh entrepreneur Aidar Assaubayev has established a personal scholarship. It provides equal access to quality education for applicants from the regions and low-income families. Six students have their full tuition costs covered for one year. Four more students will receive a monthly nominal annual scholarship. This initiative is aimed at supporting the talented students studying in mining, engineering and other technical fields.
“I myself graduated from Satbayev University, or as it was called then – KazNTU named after Satpayev in 2000. My father and older brother studied here as well. Continuing the family tradition, I started working in the mining, metallurgical and gold mining industries. I consider it my duty to invest in development of Kazakh engineering school and support those who seek to receive high-quality technical education. It is important for me not only to help students from low-income families, but also to popularize technical professions in general. The establishment of the scholarship is a contribution to the future of young professionals, on which the technological progress of Kazakhstan depends,” said entrepreneur Aidar Assaubayev.
Any student with high academic achievement and leadership qualities can become a participant in the scholarship program.
“The initiative of our graduate Aidar Assaubayev is an example of a successful partnership between business and University. The support of talented students from socially vulnerable groups of the population opens up real professional opportunities for them and helps us create the human resources potential of engineers, metallurgists, and geologists for the country's mining industry,” commented Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev.
