"Financial Security: Knowledge against threats" seminar was held at Satbayev University

On April 7, 2025, within the preparation for National Olympiad on financial security, the first lecture on "Financial Security" was held at Satbayev University with the participation of representatives of Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for financial monitoring in Almaty. The event aroused considerable interest among students and faculty of the university, especially against the background of the rapid growth of digital financial services and the increasing number of fraudulent schemes in the online space.

Seminar was opened by Daniyar Akzhanov, major general of Economic Investigation Service, head of Economic Investigations Department in Almaty. In his welcoming speech, he stressed the importance of developing the financial literacy among young people and urged students to actively engage in the processes of strengthening the economic security.

- We have one goal, - said Daniyar Meiramovich, - it is the economic security of our country.  We strive to ensure that young people do not fall into fraudulent schemes, so that their finances are protected. In accordance with the tasks outlined in RK President’s Message, we are actively working to eradicate the shadow economy and combat financial pyramids," he said.

Colonel Saken Kondubayev and lieutenant colonel Azamat Kaliyev spoke about fraud schemes and the principles of financial pyramids, emphasizing the vulnerability of young people due to lack of experience and activity in the digital space. The speakers explained how important it is to recognize financial risks, protect personal data, and understand legal responsibility for engaging in illegal transactions. Based on the answers results to the questions, the students were presented with memorable gifts.

The students were also presented with the 2025 National Financial Security Olympiad, the final of which will be held in Krasnoyarsk. Participation in it opens up opportunities for professional growth and interaction with government agencies.

DEI’s head for Almaty was met by Raissa Kabiyevna Uskenbayeva, Board member, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Satbayev University. The event moderator was Nazym Maratovna Zhunusbekova, PhD, associate professor, deputy director of Project Management Institute.

Seminar has become a significant platform for promoting the financial literacy and awareness of the role of economic security in everyone's life.
