The Great Women Event Held at Satbayev University
An annual educational event “The Great Women” was held at Satbayev University, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages. First-year students of all majors took part in the event.
The program was conducted in the format of a series of interactive quizzes. In the first round, “Guess the Woman”, participants identified outstanding women based on given facts and descriptions, while in the next round, “Match the Quote”, students matched famous quotes with their authors. These formats contributed to broadening students’ horizons and deepening their knowledge about the contribution of women to society.
During the third round, “Timeline Race”, participants arranged historical events in chronological order in teams, which helped develop analytical skills and teamwork. In the Speed Presentation block, students prepared and delivered short presentations about outstanding women, demonstrating public speaking and information structuring skills.
The final stage of the event was a discussion on the role of universities in promoting gender equality. During the discussion, participants presented well-argued positions and proposed practical initiatives aimed at ensuring equal opportunities in the educational environment.
The results of the event highlighted the high level of student preparation, their broad knowledge, active participation, and strong interest in the topic. The event was held in a constructive and professional atmosphere and contributed to the promotion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 “Quality Education” and SDG 5 “Gender Equality”.
