Training of personnel for railway transport. The program trains engineers working in the field of design, operation and repair of diesel locomotives and electric locomotives.
Students study theoretical and physical foundations of technology related to locomotives’ production and repair as well as modern methods of restoring parts, solve technical problems of strength, reliability and stability of machines, mechanisms and structural elements based on mechanics law, analyze promising technologies on the basis of which they develop parts for locomotives, study methods for calculating the parameters of production processes and evaluating their technical and economic efficiency.
Students learn how to maintain design documentation, apply mechanization, diagnostics and automation tools for locomotive repairs, as well as analyze rolling stock usage indicators in order to ensure its safe operation when interacting with railway infrastructure facilities.
During the training, students undergo practical training in "Kamkor-Vagon", "Kamkor-Locomotive" companies, in "KTZH - Freight transportation" operational locomotive depot, as well as in "Design and Experimental Center" NC "KTZР". Nonresident students can practice in the given companies’ branches at their place of residence.
Graduates work at machine-building and machine-repair enterprises producing transport machinery and equipment, at enterprises operating and repairing rolling stock, transport equipment, in design, design and technological organizations, freight forwarding services, dealerships of machine-building and repair plants, crews of special railway rolling stock, transport management services.
During their career, they hold such positions as master of locomotive depot workshop, repair engineer, chief or principal engineer of locomotive repair control, head of the locomotive depot stock base, regional traffic safety auditor, etc.
