“The ABC of Safety”, a lesson that can save lives, was held at Satbayev University

Satbayev University hosted a very important lesson – “The ABC of Safety” seminar, created for first-year students, which helps to form a safety culture at the university and develop practical emergency management skills. The meeting was organized with the support of Almaty City Emergency Situations Department, Bostandyk District Police Department and Rescue Service.

During the seminar, Bostandyk district police department’s officers told the students about ways to prevent offenses and the need to comply with the law. Representatives of Emergency Department of Almaty explained in detail how to act during an earthquake, and University representatives recalled the basic rules of fire safety in everyday life and showed what should be included in the "alarm suitcase" - a set of basic necessities in case of evacuation.

Special attention was paid to the demonstration of methods of victims’ evacuation from the upper floors. This exercise helped students to better understand the importance of coordinated actions and quick reactions in real conditions. At the end of the meeting, the participants received memos with algorithms for emergency response and expressed gratitude to the organizers for the informative and useful event.
