On the eve of University’s 90th anniversary, the scientific and practical international conference MAASOT - 2024 "Modern achievements of applied science in orthopedics and traumatology: from biomechanical research to clinical trials" started at Satbayev University, bringing together leading experts, scientists and doctors from the USA, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Greece, China, Japan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to discuss topical issues at the intersection of medicine and technology.

Over the course of two days, practitioners, scientists and engineers will exchange advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment of injuries, innovative medical products, as well as the possibilities of using 3D technologies and cell therapy. Conference is aimed at saving the lives and improving the quality of medical care, especially in areas requiring coordinated efforts by specialists from different fields of science and technology.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Minister of RK Health Timur Sultangaziyev noted that strengthening the health of the nation and evolving the domestic healthcare is one of the priorities of the state: "In pursuance of President's instructions, our ministry is working on the formation of the modern healthcare system using the most advanced and new technologies."

This is the first conference in our region that comprehensively highlights the use of high-tech methods in modern medicine. Doctors, technologists, metallurgists, roboticists and programmers work in interdisciplinary teams to create materials with improved mechanical properties, biocompatibility and durability, which is important to ensure the long-term effect of treatment.

In the address of Minister of Education and Science Sayassat Nurbek to the conference participants, the importance of strengthening international cooperation between scientists and doctors was noted: "The exchange of experience ensures the wide application of modern achievements in orthopedics and traumatology. We are ready to create all opportunities and support those who contribute to the growth of national science and education," Minister of Science and Higher Education said in an address.

A well-known graduate scientist and honorary Rector of Satbayev University, academician Dossym Suleyev, appealed to the conference participants to establish close cooperation with engineers.

"Applied sciences, which make changes in the life of society, are very important for our country. Taking this into account, our President instructed to create a research hub for new technologies and science on the basis of Kanysh Satpayev National Research Technical University. The doors of our hub are always open to all scientists, and we invite you to do science with us," Dossym Suleyev said.

The extensive conference program allowed domestic and foreign experts, doctors, manufacturers of implants, equipment and orthopedic accessories from Poland, Turkey, Germany, Russia and other countries to share their experiences and present their developments aimed at improving the life quality of people with impaired musculoskeletal system functions.

A variety of innovative ideas and solutions, as well as productive networking, have made MAASOT 2024 an important milestone in integrating the advanced technologies and medicine, contributing to the development of interdisciplinary cooperation and creation of new approaches aimed at improving the quality of life and health of people around the world.
