Debates Dedicated to World Science Day Held at Satbayev University

As part of the celebration of World Science Day, a debate tournament was held among first-year students at Satbayev University. The discussion topics focused on current scientific and social issues. First-year students took part in the intellectual competition, demonstrating excellent command of the English language, strong argumentation skills, and confident public speaking.

The motions addressed modern scientific and social questions. Participants discussed these topics, competed in oratory, and answered quiz questions. The first round focused on the motion “Artificial Intelligence will replace Human Intelligence in the nearest future.” The winning team was the Government side, represented by Ilnur Sembaev and Yerasyl Amanov. In the second round, dedicated to the motion “Social Media – the source of imbalanced mental health and toxic society,” the best performance was delivered by the Opposition team represented by Amina Bekturganova and Aldiyar Mulkulan.

The judging panel, which included representatives of the university’s debate community, noted the high level of preparation, team spirit, and creative approach of the participants. The tournament was organized by the Department of Foreign Languages and took place in an atmosphere of scientific curiosity, logical reasoning, and confident public speaking.
