The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reports that Dushanbe is installing a memorial plate in honor of Kanysh Satpaev, eminent geologist, founder of the RK Academy of Sciences and the first honorary member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajilistan.

The issue is reported to be discussed by Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Tajikistan Nurlan Seitimov and president of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Farhad Rahimi in Dushanbe, 1 March.

«Friday statement says that "In order to eternize the memory of academician for future generations of our friendly countries, Kazakh Ambassador proposed to establish a memorial plate in honor of K.Satpaev on the building of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, which was supported by F.Rahimi".

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalls that K.Satpaev actively consulted and assisted Tajik colleagues regarding institutional arrangements for the opening of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

During the meeting the parties also discussed the priority areas of joint research between scientists of the two countries.
