NATGEO Qazaqstan Club was opened at Satbayev University
The grand opening of NATGEO Qazaqstan Club, created in partnership with the editorial staff of “National Geographic Qazaqstan” magazine, took place at Satbayev University. The new student site will become a unique space designed to promote science, study the sustainable development of ecosystems and implement projects "from idea to public result".
The new NATGEO Qazaqstan club will continue to work in the field of ecology and sustainable development, including the workshops and discussions, scientific projects, field research and environmental campaigns in collaboration with schools and youth communities.
“We expect that NATGEO Qazaqstan Club will become one of the catalysts for evolving the research, design and media companies in the field of sustainable development among students," said Meiram Begentayev, Rector of Satbayev University. – Without a doubt, the initiative, developed together with the Kazakh editorial office of one of the most famous magazines in the world, will become an incentive for the activation of students and the emergence of projects in this important area for the modern world.
An important direction will be the formation of partnerships with National Geographic Qazaqstan, environmental NGOs, research centers and business structures, which will create a sustainable platform for evolving the student initiatives and expanding the international cooperation.
Much attention will be paid to the rich nature of Kazakhstan and its cultural heritage, which are organically linked to the mission of NATGEO Qazaqstan club. As you know, the materials of “National Geographic” magazine, specializing in articles about geography, natural diversity, history, science and culture, are always illustrated with a large number of photographs. A logical continuation of the given tradition was the photo exhibition organized as part of the opening, which allowed the guests to see Kazakhstan through the lens of both famous domestic masters and talented students.
