Satbayev University and “Kazpost” presented the first stamps in Kazakhstan created in honor of University’s anniversary

A solemn ceremony was held at Satbayev University, at which unique postage stamps issued in honor of University’s 90^th anniversary, were officially presented. The event was attended by Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev and Gulnaz Kavliyeva, “Kazpost” company, "Postal Service" subsidiary’s director.

Assel Zhanassova congratulated all those gathered on such a rare event and wished the University staff to successfully fulfill their mission and inspire young people to make great big achievements:

- The stamp issued today is not just a paper, it is a state mark, which for the first time in Kazakhstan’s history is dedicated to University. The given stamp has been issued in a very small edition, and it can be assumed that in 10 years it will be of great value," Gulnaz Assilbekovna said.

Meiram Begentayev congratulated the audience and especially the joint team of Satbayev University and “Kazpost”, thanks to which this project became possible. Famous scientist Professor Ulykpan Sydykov and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of University Raissa Uskenbayeva joined the congratulations as well.

Commemorative stamps made owing to modern offset printing and UV ink technologies represent important achievements of University in science and education and are based on historical photographs of University. The circulation consists of five stamps, each of which reflects the unique contribution of Satbayev University to technical sciences growth in Kazakhstan.

The first stamp cancellation attracted special attention at the ceremony: heads of University and “Kazpost” used the original postmark to put on the stamps, pasted on special commemorative envelopes, a special stamp with the date when the stamps "Satbayev University" appeared in circulation. These are the so-called "first stamps", which are very popular among collectors.

After that, commemorative envelopes with the signatures of the participants were exchanged, which emphasized the historical significance of the event. These stamps have become an important symbol of the 90-year history and achievements of one of the oldest technical universities in the country.
