Satbayev University and Técnicas Reunidas provide new internship opportunities in Spain for future engineers

There was held a meeting with representatives of Técnicas Reunidas Spanish engineering corporation at Satbayev University. Delegation was led by Oscar Lombera Villota, CEO of the company, and Firangiz Mammadova, a manager of Country HR&GS of Kazakhstan branch. During the visit, the guests met with University’s new Vice-rector Saule Sherubay, where the parties confirmed the strategic nature of cooperation and discussed the partnership programs’ further development.

After the official meeting, the company's representatives held an information session for graduate students of engineering specialties. Participants were told in detail about the conditions of a six-month internship in Spain, career opportunities in international projects and requirements for candidates.

Técnicas Reunidas is one of the world leaders in the field of design and construction of energy and petrochemical industry facilities. It is one of the key players in executing the global energy transition.

Firangiz Mammadova noted that the company expects to see motivated graduates among the candidates who are ready to work in an international environment and consciously choose an engineering career:

"It is important for us that the candidate clearly understands what they are doing. The engineering profession is not just about working in an office with drawings. The best specialists participate in projects at the sites: these are construction towns, working in different climatic conditions - from hot countries to cold regions. This is a great opportunity, fast career growth and decent pay, but also a serious professional return," Firangiz Mammadova emphasized.

Partnership with Satbayev University is part of a long-term strategy for evolving the intellectual capital in the regions where Técnicas Reunidas operates. The internship program is fully funded by the host country and includes two phases: a three-month online course in project engineering and a three-month internship at the head office in Madrid. The participants are divided into specialized departments and work on real international projects. In the future, the best of the best gets a job in the company. Thus, Satbayev University's partnership with Técnicas Reunidas gives students access to the international engineering ecosystem, forming a talent pool for a new generation of world-class engineers.

Last year, two Satbayev University students successfully completed the given internship program. As a result of the internship, both received job offers from Técnicas Reunidas, which confirms the high level of training of university students and the practical effectiveness of cooperation between the university and the international engineering corporation.
