Satbayev University held a Eurasian innovation forum dedicated to urban safety issues
On June 15-17, 2022, the Eurasian Innovation Forum "Actual problems of development and safety of large cities" was held at Satbayev University. The forum is organized by Satbayev University in cooperation with the Central Research and Design Institute of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, the Eurasian Association for Seismology, Earthquake-Resistant Construction and Protection from Natural Disasters and the National Expert Association "Srosexpertiza".
The forum was attended by highly qualified scientists and specialists from the countries of Russia, Germany, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, such as a member of the Presidium of the Eurasian SEISMO Association Mirken Abakanov and the head of the Structural Mechanics Department of earthquake-resistant construction and protection from natural disasters of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "CR&DI of the Ministry of Construction of Russia" Vladimir Guriev. The well-known Kazakh architect, scientist Bolat Kuspangaliyev and the head of the department of integrated urban planning safety of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "CR&DI of the Ministry of Construction of Russia" Rustam Akbiev became co-chairs of the Forum's Scientific and Coordination Council.
Within the framework of three sections, the participants made presentations on various aspects of efficient and safe construction in the difficult geographical and climatic conditions of Kazakhstan and Russia, such as earthquake-prone regions or poorly urbanized territories of Siberia. The forum was held for three days, during the second day there was a round table dedicated to the use of secondary raw materials and resources from waste in construction. The participants also devoted a lot of time to engineering calculations and BIM technologies.
A wide range of participants from around the world made it possible to take a wider than usual look at the problem of the safe development of not only cities, but also agglomerations, as well as groups of settlements. The work of the forum was held at a high scientific, technical, creative and educational level, the participants noted the high benefit from the exchange of knowledge and the fact that the forum should be held on an annual basis.
One of the most important results of the forum was the decision to establish the Eurasian Association for Spatial Planning and Urban Development on the basis of Satbayev University.
Given the significant interest shown in the forum, its resolution will be sent to the heads of ministries and departments of the architecture and construction industry from all participating countries, as well as to all forum participants.
