Satbayev University hosted the country's first student sim-racing tournament

Satbayev University hosted Kazakhstan's first student virtual motorsport tournament "Sim2LifeTrack by Satbayev -Time Attack Virtual Challenge", organized with the support of Porsche Kazakhstan and Sokol motorsport complex. Contest brought together more than 100 participants - students, undergraduates and schoolchildren who are passionate about engineering, digital technologies and motorsport.

Tournament was held in Time Attack format on the virtual version of Sokol Race Track in the Assetto Corsa game. Participants competed for lap times using simulators that were as close as possible to the real driving conditions of a sports car. Competition became part of Satbayev University's educational initiative to develop engineering thinking and digital competencies among students.

The event was organized by M. Tynyshpayev School of Transport Engineering and Logistics with the student team participation of Satbayev University Racing Team. Tournament was aimed at popularizing the sim racing, increasing the interest of young people in technical sports and creating the culture of safe driving.

"Sim2LifeTrack is not just a virtual game, but a modern engineering laboratory where students can experience the real physical processes of driving a car and experience the competitive spirit combining science, technology and motorsport," the tournament organizers noted.

Students of Satbayev University, Narxoz University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Toraighyrov University, Kozybaev University, Academy of Civil Aviation, L.B. Goncharov KazARI, International Transport and Humanitarian University, KBTU and other universities of the country took part in the competitions.

At the end of the tournament, Artyom Tyutin from Narxoz University took the first place, showing the best lap time of 1:41:927. He received a special prize - the opportunity to race on the real Sokol Race Track driving a Porsche 911 GT3 provided by Porsche Kazakhstan. The second place was shared by Ilnur Sembayev from Satbayev University and Oleg Kirillov from al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Tournament was the next step of Satbayev University in evolving the innovative engineering education and introducing the gaming technologies into the educational process. Satbayev University continues to form an ecosystem where students can combine science, technology and sports, discovering new horizons of engineering creativity.
