Satbayev University rises by 110 Positions in ESG Ranking of International Universities
Kazakhstan’s leading technical university has significantly strengthened its commitment to sustainable development, climbing 110 positions in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025. The new rankings were published today on topuniversities.com.
According to the updated QS Sustainability Rankings 2025, Satbayev University ranks 771st globally out of 1,751 institutions, placing it alongside Abu Dhabi University and Grenoble Institute of Technology. Notably, it has surpassed institutions such as Shanghai University, Tokyo University of Science, and others.
This ranking reflects a remarkable leap in the university’s development of environmental and social sustainability compared to its performance in the 2023 rankings.
Among Asian universities, Satbayev University secured the 215th position out of 661 institutions and confidently holds the second spot among 17 Kazakhstani universities.
Key Achievements:
- Governance: 81.1/100, placing the university in the global top 400 (ranked 392).
- Environmental education: Strong results with a score of 74.4/100, reflecting the university’s robust academic programs and solid reputation in preparing specialists in sustainable development.
- Knowledge exchange: A score of 65.0/100 highlights the university’s high level of international integration through educational exchanges and participation in research programs with leading global scientific centers.
The QS World University Rankings: Sustainability assesses the social and environmental impact of universities as hubs of education and research—from the influence of graduates in science and technology addressing climate challenges to the impact of research aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
