Satbayev University Scientists Strengthen International Cooperation in Water Research
Scientists from Satbayev University have completed a research internship at the Research Institute of Water Engineering and Environment (IIAMA) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The internship was part of an international project on modeling the impact of microplastics on human health and developing wastewater treatment methods, carried out by the Department of Engineering Systems and Networks under the supervision of Kulyash Alimova.
During their work at the University of Valencia, the research team discussed the project’s interim results and received consultations on mathematical modeling of microplastic behavior in aquatic environments, risk assessment, and modern European wastewater treatment technologies. Special attention was given to sharing expertise in pollutant analysis and developing models to predict their distribution in the hydrosphere.
Together with UPV scientists, the team identified key project tasks for the upcoming year, agreed on research directions, and discussed modern approaches to data processing. Meetings with leading IIAMA specialists helped refine scientific priorities and broaden opportunities for further collaboration.
The results of the internship will contribute significantly to the development of the project and strengthen the partnership between Satbayev University and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, opening new prospects for joint research in ecology and water technologies.
