Satbayev University summed up the work of RK National Engineering Academy and named the best engineers of Kazakhstan

An expanded meeting of National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at Satbayev University, where the results of the year were summed up and strategic directions of the engineering industry, including the evolvement of artificial intelligence, were discussed. The discussion on the regions’ technological development, international projects and the participation of Kazakhstani scientists in world forums brought together leading scientists, engineers and representatives of the regions.

President of RK National Engineering Academy, Academician Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov, presented a detailed report on Academy's work over the past year. He noted key achievements, international initiatives and the special attention that is currently being paid to digitalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence in engineering and education. "Today we are the first to understand that a new era is already dawning - the era of artificial intelligence. The explosive development of AI can seriously change the life of mankind, and we must be at the very center of the given processes," Zhumagulov emphasized.

In turn, Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev congratulated Academy’s members on the start of a new cycle of work and made a report on transforming the university. He spoke about the introduction of digital technologies, industrial partnerships and modernization of engineering education. He stressed that Satbayev University actively integrates artificial intelligence into the educational process and pays great attention to the practical work of students and cooperation with production.

"When we discuss digitalization and technological sovereignty, I feel proud of our scientists. Thanks to them, we have managed to restructure engineering training and create a university digital ecosystem based on real industrial challenges. At the same time, artificial intelligence does not become a substitute for a teacher, it is a tool that saves time and empowers to move faster towards the right competence," said Rector.

At the end of the meeting, the winners of 10^th anniversary Republican contest "Best Engineer - 2025" were announced. The event is of particular importance, as this year's anniversary of the competition coincided with Year of working professions, announced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who emphasized the value of the engineering corps, noting that "engineers are the heart of progress" and the key to the country's technological sovereignty in an era of rapid development of artificial intelligence.

The recognition was given to eleven engineers who demonstrated high professionalism and made significant contributions to executing the major industrial, defense, environmental and innovative projects, strengthening the economic and technological sustainability of Kazakhstan. Among the laureates are the authors of US patents, creators of critical technologies for the army, the oil and gas sector, SMEs and national security, which underlines the scale of their contribution to the country’s technological development. The awarding ceremony was an excellent finale for the academy's meeting, which confirmed that consolidation of the scientific community, industry and leading universities is becoming a key condition for strengthening the engineering potential and achieving the technological sovereignty of Kazakhstan.
