Satbayev University’s representatives took part in 8th meeting of Kazakh-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation
On January 26-27, 2023, the eighth meeting of Kazakh-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Budapest (Hungary) Kazakh delegation was headed by Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov, and Hungarian delegation was headed by Hungarian Finance Minister Mihai Varga.
Within the framework of Commission, a series of meetings of Kazakh-Hungarian Business Council was held, a number of agreements were reached in energy and atomic energy use field. The parties also discussed cooperation within the framework of Hungarian Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program, which will provide 250 grants to Kazakh students to study in Hungary.
Delegation was attended by Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev and Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Alibek Shokparov, who visited Obuda University (Budapest) to discuss educational, research and other opportunities for cooperation. Delegation visited Scientific and Innovation Center of Obud University and John von Neumann Faculty of Computer Science. On the second day of work, Memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed between the universities. On Hungarian side, Rector of Óbudai Egyetem Levente Kovacs signed the memorandum.
Satbayev University is expanding its ties with universities in Europe, it already has cooperation programs with Hungarian Metropolitan and Miskolc Universities, and the third in this row is Obuda University, a technical university specializing in training the specialists in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, engineering, business, architecture and construction spheres. In international ranking of QS universities, it ranks
1201-1400 place, in Times Higher Education 1001-1200 place, in Young University Rankings 301-350 place. Training is conducted in Hungarian as well as English.
Delegation will continue in Munich (Germany), where a meeting will be held with Markus Glasser, Senior Vice President of EOS GmbH, a world leader in additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing of metals and plastics. Satbayev University’s representatives will inspect the company's equipment and negotiate on cooperation.
