The Republican intellectual game on atomic energy and nuclear physics was held at Satbayev University
Satbayev University hosted the Republican student intellectual game in the field of "Atomic Energy and Nuclear Physics", organized by General Physics Department at A. Burkitbayev Energy and Mechanical Engineering Institute.
The event brought together students from leading universities in Kazakhstan and abroad, including the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after G. Daukeyev, Academy of Civil Aviation, International University of Engineering and Technology, and National Research Nuclear University (NRNU) (Russia). The invited guests noted the high level of students' training and the relevance of the tasks offered to them.
The participants went through several stages: an intellectual blitz on nuclear physics, a creative competition to create a mock-up of a nuclear power plant, and a practical task on assembling a reactor control system chip. Russian “Savelyev Team” (NRNU, Russia) was recognized as the best team, and two teams from Satbayev University, Neutron and Isotope, took second and third places.
In line with the organizers, the aim of the competition is to increase students' interest in nuclear physics and nuclear energy, develop engineering thinking and build the scientific potential of young specialists. The intellectual games presented annually at Satbayev University help to achieve the given goal and play an important role in evolving the engineering competencies, stimulating the student research activity and popularizing the nuclear physics and energy in Kazakhstan.
