Asetuly Dauren
Head of the Maintenance Management Group at Almaty International Airport
How did you get into Satbayev University?
I entered the university after successfully passing the UNT (unified national testing) test and receiving 106 points. Also, given my proximity to technology and interest in this field, I decided to choose KazNTU to receive an education specializing in mechanical engineering.
Why did you choose Satbayev University?
The University was one of the best technical universities in Kazakhstan.
The training was interesting and intense. I remember the bright moments of my student life, participation in projects and research, such as the development of the technological process for the production of gearboxes, and the improvement of drilling heads.
My favorite subjects at the university were "Theory of mechanisms and machines" and "Modeling".
Theoretical subjects such as mathematics and physics were easily assimilated. Practical subjects and some topics, like TMM, Machine parts and Electrical Engineering, caused difficulties.
At the university, studying to become an engineer specializing in mechanical engineering, I gained basic knowledge in the field of mechanics, thermodynamics and electrical engineering necessary to understand the work of machines and mechanisms. He also studied the basics of the design and engineering of mechanisms and machines, including materials science, processing and assembly methods. Mathematical methods such as analytical geometry and differential and integral calculus
While living in dormitory No. 4, I actively participated in the cultural events of the institute and the university. I also participated in student organizations, which helped me develop leadership skills and expand my social circle.
Which of the teachers do you remember? What did you learn from him?
Bemen Duisen Mynyganuly and Kuspekov Kayyrbek Amirgazyly are the ones I remember the most. Both were outstanding professionals in their field. They not only taught us the skills to be punctual and complete tasks on time, but also inspired me to take an interest in modeling and drawing.
Did you study science during your studies?
Yes, I did. I got a job as a junior researcher at the research laboratory of the A. Burkutbayev Institute. Development of a technical process for the production of a gearbox roof.
After graduating in 2015, he entered the Rhenish-Westphalian Technical University of Aachen with a degree in Computer Engineering and Manufacturing in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, from 2021 to 2023, he worked as a failure analysis engineer at KAZ MINERALS AKTOGAY. Currently, I work as the head of the Maintenance Management group at Almaty International Airport.
What are the main achievements you have achieved in your career?
After completing my studies at KazNTU and a foreign university, I acquired deep knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering. Having gained work experience in leading companies such as the Institute of Hydraulic Drives and Systems of RWTH Aachen University (ifas), Kazatomprom, KAZ MINERALS AKTOGAY and Almaty International Airport, I deepened my skills in the field of mechanical engineering. These achievements have allowed me to reach a certain professional level and take responsible positions in the field of mechanical engineering.
The most important qualities that were instilled in you at the university, and which helped you in your career?
The most important qualities acquired at university and useful in a career are: systemic thinking, teamwork and time management.
What qualities should a future graduate have in order to be a professional in his field?
The future graduate must have in-depth knowledge in his field, the ability to work in a team, the ability to analyze and solve problems, as well as flexibility, responsibility and a desire for continuous development.
How do you see the future of Satbayev University?
I am watching how the university is gaining new momentum, new cooperation with Kazakhstani and international companies. I hope that in the future small production facilities will be formed at the university, where students will implement projects and get their first professional job.
What would you like to say to future generations of students?
I want to say that success comes gradually, not immediately. It is important to strive for growth and learning, be persistent and believe in yourself.
