A meeting dedicated to ecology was held at Satbayev University with Yuri Serebryansky

Satbayev University hosted a meeting in a new format of social reading: students read aloud and discussed the ecological fairy tales of Kazakhstani writer Yuri Serebryansky.

Yuri Serebryansky is a Kazakhstani writer and cultural anthropologist of Polish descent, a holder of the "Құрмет" order, and a specialist in chemistry and ecology. His novel "Altynshash" was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the best works in literature and journalism that promote intercultural and interethnic harmony.

One of his popular works is the collection "Kazakhstani Fairy Tales," which was recognized as the best publication for children and youth at the "On the Great Silk Road" book exhibition in 2017. These stories and parables transport the reader into a world of magic and adventure, filled with the cultural heritage and traditions of Kazakhstan. The author of the fairy tales participated in the meeting and willingly answered questions.

At the event, representatives from the regional analytical center CAPS Unlock spoke, where the "Turn it around" competition for youth from Central Asian countries is currently taking place: the Central Asian Climate Cards deck, in partnership with the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty and the University of Arizona (USA). Madina Nurzhanova and Saule Kalikova encouraged students to actively participate in ecological initiatives.
