Bridge across two countries: Satbayev University has received the scientific delegation from the People's Republic of China
Today, Satbayev University has been visited by the delegation from East China Pedagogical University, Chinese University of Petroleum (Huadong), Asian Gas Pipeline, Trans-Asian Gas Pipeline. The meeting was devoted to joint research and development work in the field of oil and gas trunk pipeline transport.
The delegation was met by Yerzhan Kuldeyev, Vice-rector for Science and Corporate Development at Satbayev University, who welcomed the meeting’s participants, noting the significance of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in developing the advanced technologies for the oil and gas industry, much attention to which is paid by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Yerzhan Kuldeyev stressed that joint scientific research and development work can become the basis for optimizing the processes in main pipelines, which is of particular importance for both countries. The leader of the delegation, Professor Zhou Jung, made a response speech: - Our countries are very close and friendly neighbors. And we will definitely achieve the results in solving the common problems," Professor said.
Modern oil and gas pipelines are huge systems, covering, in addition to pipelines, pumping stations and emergency response systems, ground and underground storage facilities, fire protection systems, communication lines and much more. This implies a constant search for new technologies, innovative technical and technological solutions. The participants discussed the possibilities of Universities and key areas of future cooperation, as well as plans for elaborating and executing the innovative technologies that can improve the safety and operation efficiency of main pipelines connecting Kazakhstan and China.
Representatives of Chinese universities presented their research programs aimed at solving the urgent problems in the field of pipeline transportation of oil and gas. Professor Zhou Yong shared the successes of Statistics School of East China Pedagogical University, which is actively engaged in data analysis to improve the operation of oil and gas pipelines. Professors Zhou Yong and Jiang Lin spoke about their work on the latest technologies for monitoring the condition of pipelines and preventing the emergencies.
At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the collaboration between Satbayev University and universities of the People's Republic of China has great potential for the successful development of innovative technologies in the field of oil trunk pipeline transport.
