Dr. Tariq Umar, senior lecturer at University of the West of England, visited Satbayev University
Dr. Tariq Umar, senior lecturer at University of the West of England, visited Satbayev University on the working visit. Dr. Umar met with University’s representatives and held "Discover the future: sustainable urban development" exclusive workshop for University students and teachers.
Dr. Umar is a civil engineer, an ambassador of STEM, an outstanding world-class expert specializing in the topic of sustainable urban development and construction management. His workshop was dedicated to modern approaches in urban construction management sphere with the purpose to create a place to live that would thrive ecologically, socially and economically. Tariq Umar shared real-life cases of how sustainable practices are changing cities around the world.
Alongside, the meeting was held during of which cooperation between our universities in the field of education and science, architecture, construction, chemical engineering and computer science was discussed.
Dr. Tariq spoke about a joint project with Satbayev University team. The grant for the given project was received under Interlinks Small Grants Program for International Education Projects from British Councils. The project aims to create an international education system in the field of civil engineering, architecture and BIM technologies, green construction and informatics. Within the framework of the project, joint programs in the field of civil engineering, architecture, computer science, BIM and green technologies will be implemented, academic mobility programs for employees and students, exchange of research experience and joint research projects will be launched.
Satbayev University's partner in the given project is University of the West of England (also known as University of the West of England Bristol), a public research university located in Bristol, United Kingdom. QS ranks 741-750 in the international university ranking, and 501-600 in Times Higher Education ranking.
