Ecohub at the University: Recycle Plastic — Support Environmental Initiatives
Environmental initiatives at the university continue to grow — new Ecohub reverse vending machines have been installed in the building of the O.A. Baikonurov Mining and Metallurgical Institute. Students now have another convenient way to recycle plastic bottles and aluminum cans right on campus — quickly, easily, and with benefits.
The machines are located on the first floor of the GMI building, in the lobby, making them accessible at any convenient time between classes.
Ecohub is not only about recycling, but also about contributing to environmental initiatives. For example, Freedom card holders receive a small reward of 4 KZT for each returned bottle or can. In addition, users can direct their accumulated funds to environmental funds, supporting important initiatives.
The Ecohub team actively develops initiatives in Almaty aimed at promoting responsible consumption and recycling culture. According to ECO Network founder Yevgeny Mukhamedzhanov, the development of accessible infrastructure makes environmentally friendly behavior part of everyday life.
The introduction of such machines at the university is another step toward making waste sorting a standard practice for every student. By recycling plastic today, we contribute to a more responsible and sustainable future. Join us!
