From Technology Museum to two-degree programs: Satbayev University was visited by Obuda University’s delegation
On April 21, Hungarian Obuda University’s delegation headed by Rector Levente Kovacs visited Satbayev University as part of the grand tour of Kazakhstan.
The guests were met by University Rector, Meiram Begentayev, who welcomed and outlined the main directions of future cooperation: academic exchange of students and teachers, two-degree study programs, cooperation in innovative projects sphere.
Levente Kovacs supported the vision of Satbayev University leadership and presented the Hungarian scientists’ invention – a set for amateurs of modeling and mechanics for assembling a metal model of the famous Ford Model T car, produced in 1908.
Satbayev University presented the guests individual gifts and offered University tour. The guests visited the new Museum of Technology History and the traditional exhibition of Polytech projects, where they were shown unmanned aerial vehicles, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, VR laboratory, Baiterek situation center and other innovative elaborations.
Attention to technical discoveries and pride in their traditions is a trait that unites both universities. Polythech Rector, Meiram Begentayev, noted at the meeting that our University had already begun to benefit from cooperation with Obuda University:
- Your experience inspired us to create our own Museum of Technology History, which already has the first exhibits, - said Rector.
The visit of Obuda University administration to Kazakhstan is a continuation of the process that began during the eighth meeting of Kazakh-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Hungary at the beginning of the year. During the given meeting, Rector of Satbayev University Meiram Begentayev and Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Alibek Shokparov visited Obuda University and signed Cooperation Memorandum.
University of Óbudai Egyetem is one of the largest technical universities in Hungary. Here they study information technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, business, architecture and construction. University has 8 research, innovation and service centers that support and manage innovation, research and development. University's strengths include cybersecurity, robotics and artificial intelligence. There is Stipendium Hungaricum within University walls, training is conducted both in Hungarian and in English, so that Kazakhstani students have the opportunity to study in Hungary.
Earlier, the delegation visited D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University. The program of the visit to Almaty has been scheduled for three days and will continue with the visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Suleyman Demirel University as well.
