"Hackers of the future": Satbayev University held a cybersecurity competition
Satbayev University has become the epicenter of digital battles – the republican information security tournament "Satbayev University Capture the Flag 2025" (SUCTF-2025) was held here. 150 students from 38 teams from all over the country competed for the title of the best, but the victory was won by students from the best technical universities in the country.
The winners of SUCTF-2025 are:
- 1st place – MG.RT team (Satbayev University): Bekzat Dzhangassiyev, Amirzhan Kuanysh, Beisebai Kuandykov
- 2nd place – Mimicats team (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University): Ilyas Karagoishiyev, Ayan Yermekbayev, Yeldos Menduahas, Alan Galiyev
- 3rd place – Kbtu_ctf_enjoyers team (KBTU): Baurgaz Alimgazy, Yernur Toleukan,
"Techno Woman" special award was also awarded to the best women's team of the tournament, and other nominations.
During the competition, participants solved the most difficult tasks in data protection, cryptography, reverse engineering and vulnerability detection. In addition, students were able to communicate with experts in the field of cybersecurity and learn about industry trends.
SUCTF-2025 Republican competition was held by Cybersecurity, Information Processing and Storage Department at Automation and Information Technology Institute with the support of RK Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, as well as AST Cyber Lab, MONT TECH, Centurion IT companies. The general sponsor of the competition was Kaspi bank.
SUCTF-2025 confirmed the status of Satbayev University as a training center for highly qualified specialists in cybersecurity sphere. And the winners of the tournament are the future defenders of the digital world, who are already showing a high level of knowledge and skills.
