Kanysh Satbayev's memory honored in Almaty
A solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Kanysh Satbayev was held in Almaty, dedicated to Day of science workers, which is traditionally celebrated in Kazakhstan on the birthday of the first academician. The event was attended by representatives of the scientific community and the city’s Mayor's office, government officials, teachers and students.
Deputy akim of Almaty Abzal Nukenov, Vice-president of RK National Academy of Sciences under RK President Askar Zhumadildayev, deputy of Parliament Senate, chairman of K. I. Satbayev Foundation Altynbek Nukhuly addressed the guests of the holiday, paying tribute to the great scientist Kanysh Satbayev, whose name is inextricably linked with the development of geology, industry and science of Kazakhstan. The speeches emphasized the role of Kanysh Satbayev's scientific heritage as a foundation for evolving the modern science and technology, as well as the importance of integrating science, education and production.
Opening the ceremony, deputy akim of Almaty Abzal Nukenov congratulated the university community and conveyed congratulations from President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.:
“The recognition of April 12 as Science Day gave a powerful impetus to the industrialization of scientific activity, as well as the formation and growth of science in our country,” said Abzal Nukenovich. "Satbayev University has achieved a lot in the given area, which continued the work of Academician Kanysh Satbayev and became the foundation for intellectual and technological potential of future generations and our city.
University emphasized that Science Day is not only a tribute to the great scientists of the past, but also an important platform for demonstrating modern achievements and defining strategic directions for development. Satbayev University, being the country's first technical university, continues to strengthen its position as the leading scientific and educational center in Central Asia, evolving the international collaboration and introducing advanced technologies.
