The international analytical agency in the higher education sphere, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, has published a ranking of the best universities in Asia in 2026 – QS Asia University Rankings 2026.
The released ranking of the best Asian universities is the largest in its history and includes 1,529 universities from 25 countries and territories of the region, with 554 of them making their debut in the ranking.
Kazakhstan is continuing to dominate in Central Asia and is the only country in the region whose universities are represented in the top 100 best universities in Asia – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Satbayev University are ranked 38th, 61st and 79th respectively.
Sergey Khristolyubov, Regional director of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, commented on the results of our country as follows: "In the new ranking of the best universities in Asia - QS Asia University Rankings, Kazakhstan is strengthening its leadership in Central Asia." This year, not only has the number of Kazakhstani universities in the ranking increased, but they are also growing steadily.
For Satbayev University, the 79th place is the highest place since its foundation. A year ago, it ranked 89th in the Asian ranking. This was largely due to cooperation with one of the best universities in Asia - City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
