NAWA grant opened the doors to the European scientific community for Satbayev University students and a professor

NAWA grant opened the doors to the European scientific community for Satbayev University students and a professor

This became possible thanks to the grant from Polish National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA), which was received by Tatyana Chepushtanova, professor of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing Department of MMI. The success was achieved with the support of Mechanical Engineering Faculty at Bialystok University of Technology (Poland) and its professor Malgozata Gradska-Dalke.

As part of the grant, professor T. A. Chepushtanova, together with her research group, completed the academic internship at Bialystok University of Technology. In addition to the professor, the group included students of “Metallurgy” specialty: doctoral students Aliya Altmyshbayeva and Arailym Mukangaliyeva, as well as undergraduates Dariga Tolen and Ayim Altayeva.

The program of the visit included an introduction to modern laboratories and installations for producing highly efficient alloys and materials by induction melting, as well as training in working with a mixed reality program designed for programming the industrial robots. The students were able to learn from the experience of their European colleagues and get involved in real international research projects.

To find opportunities for future cooperation, professor Tatyana Chepushtanova presented to her Polish colleagues the research results in the field of powder metallurgy and production of "triple remelting" alloys. Satbayev University students talked about their scientific works as well. The plans comprise joint research, including the participation in large-scale initiatives of European Union and Horizon Europe competitions.

The grant under "PROM - Academic exchange" program from Polish National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA) is of great importance not only for Satbayev University, but also for evolving the international scientific cooperation in general. It confirms the high level of Kazakh science and demonstrates the continued integration of our researchers into the European academic space.
