Rector’s congratulations on 80th anniversary of the Victory!

Dear veterans and home front workers! Dear colleagues, students and parents!
Victory Day is a special holiday for our University. From the first days of the war, students and teachers of Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute stood up for the Motherland and went to the front right from the classrooms. Six of them were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. But it was not only on the battlefield that our Polytechnic students contributed to the Victory: during the war, the legendary Kanysh Satbayev and his associates established manganese mining in the Zhezkazgan region, providing the country's weapons industry with the key resource for tank armor and the production of high-strength steel.
Today we thank the winning generation for the peaceful skies over our country. Their steadfastness, courage and love for the Fatherland give us the strength to move forward, developing science, educating new generations of engineers and scientists. We honor everyone who fought at the front, created armor for tanks, and forged victory in scientific laboratories and mines.
Congratulations on Victory Day! I wish you good health, long life, peace, prosperity and pride in the great history of our people and University. May the memory of the feat inspire us to new achievements for the prosperity of our country!
Sincerely, Meiram Begentayev
