Satbayev University and Colorado School of Mines have discussed development of partnership in the mining and oil-gas business field

Satbayev University is discussing the new projects with one of the best technical universities in the world, Colorado School of Mines. At the meeting between Rector Meiram Begentayev and the delegation from American University, headed by John Bradford, Vice President for Global Initiatives, the plans were presented to launch dual degrees and develop joint research in the fields of geology, oil and gas engineering and mining.

 Colorado School of Mines is one of the world's leading technical universities, known for teaching students how to work with real-world industry challenges.  The partnership between Satbayev University and Colorado School of Mines has a strong history and is moving to the level of opening the joint two-degree program with the possibility of obtaining a PhD degree. Doctoral students will not only receive research qualifications, but from the very first day they will be able to gain practical experience in international engineering projects.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to elaborating the joint projects in areas related to quantum computing and the exploration of space resources. Representatives of Satbayev University also suggested paying attention to the problems of extraction and processing of rare and rare earth metals, a topic relevant for both Kazakhstan and the United States.

Representatives of Satbayev University expressed confidence that the expansion of cooperation between long-standing partners will allow the university not only to strengthen its scientific and educational potential, but also to contribute to solving applied problems at the global level.
