Satbayev University and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan train professional personnel for the automotive industry
Satbayev University has opened the training center of Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbayev School of Transport Engineering and Logistics at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan automobile plant, “Astana Motors” subsidiary.
The signing of the agreement on establishing the training center and its opening ceremony took place on December 26, 2023 with the participation of Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev; Director of Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan Ilya Melnikov; Satbayev University’s students and the enterprise’s employees.
- We have a clear vision of the university as a place where students receive, first of all, practical skills in production, - said Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev. - We are developing our strategy together with the real market players, synchronizing our tasks with both production and development concept of Science and Higher Education Ministry. Due to close collaboration with partner companies, our students take a step into practice from the very first day.
"Don't choose a higher educational institution, choose an employer" is the motto of Satbayev University School of Transport Engineering and Logistics. And the main purpose of creating the given training center at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant is production-oriented personnel training, conducting the joint research, the results of which will be implemented in the educational process of the university and in production.
- Production is about people, our key asset is human capital. We are building factories, deepening the localization of cars and automotive components, automating the processes at existing enterprises and need professional personnel with technical education. Cooperation with the country's first and largest technical university, Satbayev University, is valuable for us, it is a joint contribution to the industrialization of Kazakhstan, - stressed Beknur Nessipbayev, CEO of Astana Motors. We see the interest of young Kazakhstanis in linking their professional destiny with the automotive industry and are ready to share competencies, transfer practical experience to a new generation of engineers and technical specialists.
Scientific activity, elaboration of production technologies is one of Satbayev University’s principal activities. Currently, the university is conducting the research work to organize charging infrastructure, taking into account issues of energy supply, safety and others - a joint project with Astana Motors company with the purpose to develop a network of electric charging stations for cars using the new energy sources in Kazakhstan.
Recall that on August 25, 2023, Satbayev University and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan signed Memorandum of cooperation to form a personnel reserve, train research personnel in automotive industry sphere, jointly develop technological processes and degree programs.
Memorandum provides for industrial practice for students and employment of graduates of Satbayev University at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant, internship of the university's teaching staff in production; involvement of Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan employees to teach as a production professor, advanced training courses and training of employees of the enterprise in MBA, DBA programs in the transport industry. In particular, in the new academic year, Alua Kairatova, a specialist in the technical control department of Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, received a grant from Satbayev University for "Transport, transport equipment and technologies" program.
In 2024, Satbayev University is planning to launch "Production and service of motor vehicles" degree program for undergraduate students. The program will be adapted to the working conditions at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant, taking into account international standards developed by the brand holder (Hyundai Motor Company, Republic of Korea).
With the purpose to train professional personnel for the actively developing machine-building industry of Kazakhstan, Satbayev University School of Transport Engineering and Logistics has opened "Transport engineering", "Land transport, transport equipment and technologies", "Digital logistics" and other degree programs. It is also being planned to open "Energy and electricity supply", "Automation and transport management (automation)", "Transport construction" directions.
The head of "Transport engineering" degree program Nurbol Kamzanov provides communication between the university and the plant.
