Satbayev University and KATKO continue to cooperate in student support

Satbayev University hosted a meeting with representatives of Kazakh-French KATKO Company, one of the key players in the country's uranium industry. The reason for the meeting was to discuss the current partnership and the support that the company provides to university students.
Company representatives met with Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Raissa Uskenbayeva, to discuss with her the organizational issues of training. After that, the meeting with the students was organized. The guests of Satbayev University met with students of the fee-paying department and introduced them to the rules of financing and scholarships from KATKO. The students received detailed answers to their questions and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity.
KATKO is a joint venture established in 1996 by the French state-owned company Orano and the national atomic Kazakhstan Kazatomprom company. The company produces and processes uranium at the Moyinkum deposit in Turkestan region. As part of Cooperation Memorandum signed in 2024, KATKO funded the education of Satbayev University’s 46 students. The funding allowed the students to receive high-quality technical education without financial barriers.
Company representatives announced their intention to continue supporting the students in the next academic year, including expanding the list of recipients of funding at the expense of students from socially vulnerable segments of the population.
