Satbayev University and National Center for Expertise and Certification are creating a new educational ecosystem in the field of metrology

Satbayev University and National Center for Expertise and Certification are creating a new educational ecosystem in the field of metrology

A branch of Standardization, Certification and Metrology Department at Satbayev University has been opened on the basis of Almaty branch of National Center for Expertise and Certification. This project combines the powerful infrastructure of NaTSeX with the research potential of Satbayev University, laying the foundation for forming the modern educational and scientific ecosystem in Kazakhstan.

The opening ceremony was attended by M.M. Begentayev, Rector of Satbayev University, and Damir Suentayev, President of National Center for Expertise and Certification, as well as heads, scientists and teachers of both organizations. During the event, the guests visited the verification, calibration and testing laboratories of NaTSeX, got acquainted with their capabilities and discussed prospects for further cooperation.

Joint laboratories will take a central place in the given educational ecosystem. They will become the basis for creating the digital databases of regulatory documents, degree programs and dual training formats, scientific research and applied developments.

Temirlan Serikov, Head of Commercial Department of the Center, noted that the main goal of cooperation is to create an educational ecosystem.

"Joint degree programs, dual training and career support for graduates will strengthen the link between science and industry. If such an ecosystem is created, we will form a professional community," he stressed.

The project is part of the work within the framework of the memorandum of long-term cooperation previously signed between Satbayev University and National Center for Expertise and Certification. The prospects for cooperation include the creation of a scientific and technical consortium that will develop advanced projects and commercialize innovative solutions. The consortium will also support the professional growth of students and staff by integrating them into the industry.

In honor of the opening, employees of Almaty branch of NaTSeX donated unique mechanical scales to Satbayev University, which will occupy a worthy place in the collection of the university's Technology museum. These scales, produced in the 1950s at the Gosmeter plant in Leningrad, demonstrate high accuracy and are capable of measuring masses up to 10 kg with a division price of only 1 mg. This engineering achievement of its time will become a symbol of the historical path of evolving the metrology and will replenish the collection of engineering artifacts of the university, which includes analog phones, film cameras and other outdated but significant technological solutions.

The Almaty branch of National Center for Expertise and Certification is one of the leading centers of metrology and certification in Kazakhstan and the CIS. The unique infrastructure and highly qualified staff create conditions for high-precision measurements and training of international specialists.

The creation of Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology on the basis of the Center opens up new horizons for the integration of science, education and production. This initiative will strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the international arena, train a new generation of highly qualified specialists and create conditions for introducing the innovations in various industries.

Satbayev University and National Center for Expertise and Certification have taken an important step towards the formation of an educational and professional environment that will ensure the sustainable development of the country in the field of technical regulation and metrology.
