Satbayev University and Penn State University are expanding the international library cooperation

Satbayev University and Penn State University (Penn State, USA) are continuing to develop a strategic partnership. Mark Mattson, Head of Global Engagement at Penn State University Libraries, visited the University. His meeting with the staff of Satbayev University Scientific Library was devoted to the prospects of cooperation and joint initiatives.

During the visit, Mark Mattson presented the capabilities of Penn State University Library as one of the leading academic library systems in the United States. The role of the library as a center of innovation and digital transformation, capable of bringing together students and researchers from all over the world, was emphasized.

Satbayev University Scientific Library’s staff and a guest from the USA discussed plans for collaboration and internships for students and librarians. Special attention was paid to the issues of access to international databases and the introduction of advanced digital solutions in the library.

"During the three days I spent here, I learned a lot not only about the Satbayev University library, but also about the library system here in Kazakhstan. I hope we will have the opportunity to continue the given conversation, as our universities are constantly looking for new ways to collaborate," said Mark Mattson.

Partnership between Satbayev University and Penn State University is aimed at strengthening the academic ties, evolving the scientific infrastructure and supporting innovation in education sphere. In the near future, it is being planned to launch joint digital projects, conduct webinars and trainings, as well as exchange specialists. This will expand the possibilities of the scientific community of Kazakhstan for integration into the global educational space.
