Satbayev University discussed the scientific cooperation prospects with A*STAR and PhD students’ internship at the best universities in Singapore

A meeting was held at Satbayev University with the delegation from Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The parties presented scientific directions, discussed the possibilities of joint projects and academic exchanges.
The parties discussed priority areas of cooperation - materials science, sustainable development and computer technology. Singapore's research exchange programs for PhD students and young scientists, which allow internships at A*STAR institutes and universities in Singapore, aroused particular interest.
Singapore's science and technology system aims to continuously develop a research ecosystem that helps create innovation and startups. The country has a long-term research funding program in which about 2 billion US dollars have been invested. Priority areas: healthcare, digital economy, urbanism and sustainable development, as well as manufacturing and trade.
A*STAR coordinates the work of 17 scientific institutes in the field of biomedical and engineering research. The organization actively invests in young scientists, supports international collaborations and offers a wide program of research exchanges. Thus, A*STAR Research Attachment Program aims to provide doctoral students with the opportunity to participate in research projects around the world. Singapore Research Attachment Program sponsors joint projects between research centers and provides an opportunity for our young scientists to complete long-term internships at the best universities in Singapore.
During the meeting, A*STAR representatives noted the high scientific potential of Kazakhstan and expressed interest in strengthening the partnership with Satbayev University. The guests took part in the information session with students and teachers, followed by the campus tour.
