Satbayev University Electronics, Telecommunications and Space Technologies Department’s branch was opened on the basis of “Granit” bureau

The official opening of the branch of Electronics, Telecommunications and Space Technologies Department on the basis of “Granit” special design and technology bureau, one of the leading Kazakhstani enterprises in the radio electronics and communications sphere, took place in Almaty. The initiative has become part of the strategic partnership between the university and industry aimed at integrating the education, science and real sector.
“Granit” bureau is one of the leading Kazakhstani enterprises in the field of radio electronic systems, air defense, radar and technical information protection. It is a scientific and production complex operating at the junction of science, engineering and defense security and creating radar stations and air defense systems.
Bureau actively participates in applied scientific projects and elaboration of high-tech solutions. Owing to opening the branch of Electronics, Telecommunications and Space Technologies Department, students and undergraduates will have direct access to modern production, unique laboratories, technological processes and engineering tasks, which will significantly enhance their practical training.
On behalf of Satbayev University, the opening ceremony of the department was attended by Yerzhan Kuldeyev, Vice Rector for Science and Corporate Development, Yerlan Tashtai, head of the department, as well as teachers and researchers. Talgat Adamov, Director General of the bureau, conducted a tour of the enterprise, noting the significance of collaboration with the university for the training of new generation engineering personnel.
The branch will serve as a platform for joint projects, teacher internships and student training based on the model of integrating the science, education and the real sector, aimed at developing competitive specialists with practice-oriented training, a deep engineering base and work experience in real production. It is expected that such a partnership will give a powerful impetus to evolving the country's engineering school and will train specialists who are ready for the high-tech economy challenges.
