Satbayev University has an auditorium that will keep the memory of the teacher Zhamiga Ormanova alive

An auditorium dedicated to the memory of university lecturer Zhamiga Ormanova, an outstanding teacher and representative of the Kazakh engineering school, was opened at Satbayev University. Her family, colleagues and students attended the ceremony. University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev spoke at the opening of the auditorium, thanking everyone who helped open the auditorium:

"By opening the Zhamiga Ormanova Auditorium, we support the continuity of generations and give current students an example of dedication to the profession that distinguished her. I believe that every young person studying in this classroom will follow her example in the moral way of life and faithful work," said Rector.

Zhamiga Galiyevna Ormanova is a mining engineer and surveyor, the daughter of the famous writer, journalist and translator Gali Ormanov, who has spent more than forty years working at Satbayev University. After graduating from Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute in 1954, she completed postgraduate studies there and chose for herself the path of a teacher, mentor and scientist at her native university. Students remembered her as a teacher of such disciplines as "Geodesy", "Surveying", "Displacement of rocks and Earth's surface under the influence of mining", "Topographic and surveying drawing".

In addition, she took an active part in the research work of the department, studying the processes of displacement of the Earth's surface during the development of deposits in the Karaganda coal basin and Tekeli lead-zinc combine. The results of many years of work became the basis for publishing more than 30 printed works.

But her principal gift was the rare ability to foster students' interest in science and profession. Her students never forgot about their beloved teacher, they paid attention to her, constantly coming to visit and inviting her to meetings and alumni meetings. Therefore, the opening of the auditorium dedicated to Zhamiga Galiyevna became an important event for the entire university.
