Satbayev University has invited the professor from Asia's leading university for lectures

In the new academic year 2025-2026, an educational course by a visiting professor from SeoulTech (South Korea), PhD Kim Kwang Dong has been introduced for students of Architecture and Construction Institute’s “Construction and Building Materials” department and the branch of CityU University of Hong Kong.

Kim Kwang Dong, PhD, is a graduate of Seoul University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) and Yonsei University (Seoul, South Korea) with the degree in Civil Engineering.

The professor's professional activity covers 30 years of practical expertise in concrete materials and structures in the field of construction and civil engineering in South Korea, Laos and Kazakhstan, as well as the development of social infrastructure facilities (roads, bridges, tunnels, airports, buildings and metro lines).

In 2011, Kim Kwang Dong was engaged as an expert and technical consultant on concrete paving during the construction of Western Europe-Western China highway.

As a guest lecturer at Satbayev University, Professor Kim Kwang Dong teaches “Concrete Materials” course for bachelor course students and undergraduates at CityU, and also conducts research with students at Architecture and Construction Institute, as well as implements research results into practical areas of civil engineering to educate a new generation of civil engineers who ensure concrete structures safety in Kazakhstan.
