Satbayev University has opened the doors to German education for its scientists and students

Kazakhstan’s first technical university delegation, headed by Rector Meiram Begentayev, visited leading research centers and production facilities in Germany to expand cooperation in the field of engineering, technology transfer and commercialization of scientific elaborations. The trip took place at the invitation of Agency for Economic Development of Federal State of Thuringia, Germany.
The extensive program of the visit began in Erfurt, where the delegation led by Rector Meiram Begentayev visited Thuringian Economic Development Agency, having studied in detail the business and scientific potential of the region. After that, Kazakhstani scientists visited Technical University in Ilmenau, Institute of Renewable Energy at Nordhaus University and other research centers, as well as leading companies in the region, including SCHACHTBAU and Enertec Kraftwerke GmbH.
During the trip, prospects for joint research projects were discussed, including the development of innovative materials and monitoring systems for industrial facilities. Steps were outlined to organize internships for Kazakhstani students at German universities. Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience in the fields of renewable energy, additive technologies, energy efficiency, robotics and digital media.
"It is crucial for Kazakhstan to develop international collaboration with the purpose to remain a competitive country," said Meiram Begentayev, "and we strive to train specialists who are ready for the modern digital economy challenges. During our visit to Germany, we worked out mechanisms for internships and joint projects with leading educational centers, which will allow our students to master advanced technologies and apply them in the domestic industry.
Additionally, Satbayev University is considering the possibility of technology transfer and commercialization of developments through joint ventures and startup companies based at the university, which will allow the introduction of advanced engineering solutions into Kazakhstan’s economy.
At the end of the trip, the university delegation, together with representatives of its long-time partner Allure, visited Erfurt Vocational Education Center, where they got acquainted with the German mechanisms of interaction between universities and industrial enterprises.
The trip results were an important step in evolving Satbayev University's international partnership, opening up new opportunities for training highly qualified specialists who are ready for the challenges of the modern economy and are able to work effectively in the rapidly changing technological landscape.
