Satbayev University hosted Round table dedicated to 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

Satbayev University hosted Round table on "Bowing to heroism – an example for posterity" topic. The meeting was organized by Social Sciences Department at Project Management Institute and brought together teachers, students and historians to talk about the importance of remembering the feat of their ancestors.

Round table was timed to coincide with a significant date – 80^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The participants met not only to honor the memory of the heroes, but also to remind the younger generation of the significance of this feat for the entire independent Kazakhstan and future generations.

The meeting was opened by Project Management Institute’s Deputy Director for Educational Work, Shyndauyl Nugmanov, who delivered a welcoming speech devoted to respect for history and a sense of civic responsibility. The discussion was supported by the invited guests, including Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor Bakdaulet Berlibayev, who shared in-depth historical research on Kazakhstanis’ contribution to the Victory.

At the end of the event, the participants honored the memory of the heroes with a minute of silence.

Round table was a continuation of the message of the instruction of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced at the meeting of National Kurultai. In his speech, the country’s President stressed the importance of research and dialogue dedicated to the immortal feat and selfless work of Kazakhstanis during the Great Patriotic War. Round table participants noted that such meetings contribute not only to the preservation of historical memory, but also form an active civic position among young people.

Satbayev University continues to pay special attention to the patriotic education of students, strengthening the connection between the past, present and future.
