Satbayev University hosted Round table dedicated to cooperation in mechanical engineering and energy sphere between Germany and Kazakhstan

Round table was held at Satbayev University, which was attended by representatives of business and industry from Germany and Kazakhstan, who discussed the prospects for cooperation and the exchange of innovations in mechanical engineering and energy. Program’s significant part was excursions to leading industrial enterprises in Almaty, including the Almaty Heavy Machinery Plant and Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan.

Dialogue was opened by Kassym Yelemessov, Director of Energy and Mechanical Engineering Institute, emphasizing the importance of international dialogue for evolving the mechanical engineering and energy. In response, Jurgen Boettcher, CEO of Enertec Kraftwerke GmbH, spoke, noting the atmosphere of scientific creativity that has been created at Satbayev University:

"Your university has a soul. Here we have seen a lot of "smart" solutions that we would like to apply in Germany," he said.

Round table brought together representatives of Almaty Heavy Machinery Plant, Kirov Machine-Building Plant, Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, Thuringian Economic Development Agency, as well as leading companies from one of the oldest industrial centers in Germany, such as Enertec Kraftwerke, Jenoptik and GFE Schmalkalden research organization.

Participants presented their companies’ achievements and plans for the future, as well as discussed opportunities for elaborating and executing the innovations in the mechanical engineering and energy sectors of Kazakhstan and Germany. The German side stressed its willingness to help Kazakhstani enterprises through specialized agencies, providing free assistance in finding the partners for technological collaboration.

Earlier in March, Satbayev University delegation, led by Rector Meiram Begentayev, visited Germany's leading research centers and manufacturing facilities. The trip took place at the invitation of Agency for Economic Development of the Federal State of Thuringia and became an important part of the expansion of cooperation in the field of engineering, technology transfer and commercialization of scientific developments.
