Satbayev University Institute of Digital Engineering and Technology is strengthening the international cooperation with Inner Mongolia University of China

On September 5-7, 2025, the delegation from Satbayev University Institute of Digital Engineering and Technology visited People's Republic of China at the invitation of Inner Mongolia State University.

Program included participation in an international conference in Harbin, as well as visits to leading universities and research centers of artificial intelligence in Hohhot - the administrative center of Inner Mongolia.

During the negotiations, the parties reached the following agreements in principle on:

  • expansion of scientific cooperation and creation of joint laboratories at Satbayev University, Almaty: chemical engineering, antibacterial biology and artificial intelligence laboratory;
  • academic cooperation – exchange of students and teachers, the launch of two-degree programs;
  • research projects, including the elaboration of AI systems for recognizing ancient runic and Chinese characters, as well as recommendation systems for biological and chemical databases.

Following the meetings, the parties agreed to prepare proposals for “Roadmap” for cooperation by the end of September 2025. Memoranda of cooperation between the universities were also signed.

Zamir Tuleshov, Adviser to Digital Engineering and Technology Institute at Satbayev University, and Igor Simonov, Head of Research Projects Department of Institute of Digital Engineering and Technology at Satbayev University, made a presentation on the potential of Institute of Digital Engineering and Technology at Satbayev University and Kazakhstan in the field of digital technology, science and innovation, and agreed with Chinese partners to jointly implement projects.

The initiatives are being supported by Inner Mongolia Administration, which is ready to consider the possibility of grant funding for evolving the joint laboratories in Kazakhstan.
