Satbayev University opens new horizons for graduates of Kazakh-Korean Drone Academy

Certificates were awarded at Satbayev University to students of the Kazakhstan-Korea Drone Competence Development Academy who successfully completed short-term training in piloting unmanned aerial vehicles.

Over the course of 8 days, 67 participants from various ministries and government organizations adopted the experience of teachers from Korean Institute of Aviation and Safety Technology (KIAST), South Korea's leading research university specializing in advanced technologies. Representative of Industry and Construction Ministry, chief expert of Directorate of Armament, military Equipment, aviation and Air Defense Batyrbek Rysbayev studied under the program himself and was satisfied:

- This program is designed for specialists in the field of cartography who want to use innovative technologies such as drones in their work. There is a lot of interesting information affecting all areas of drone application, and the extensive experience of Korean teachers — I am sure that the knowledge gained will help them in their future work.

Certificates were presented by representatives of the academy and honored guests, who congratulated the graduates and invited them to see how they work with Satbayev University drones.

- Our university is keeping up with the times, we are actively working in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles, - said the lecturer of UAV cycle of Military Affairs Institute, Colonel of the reserve Bakhtiyar Barmagambetov at the presentation. - We see the university as a platform for learning and invite everyone who is also interested in it.

Kazakhstan-Korea drone competence development academy was opened by RK Ministry of Industry and Construction, with the active participation of Kazakh drone manufacturing company BET SKY, together with Ministry of land, infrastructure and transport of the Republic of Korea (MOLIT) and Korean Institute of Aviation Security Technologies (KIAST). The first graduation took place in September 2024.

Satbayev University supports the given project and plans to hold seminars and courses on the regular basis, expanding the range of degree programs and inviting the new experts from Korea to share their experiences. It is planned to create an entire ecosystem of personnel training, providing Kazakhstan with qualified specialists in unmanned technologies sphere.
