Satbayev University Silver University Photo Contest has opened up new creative horizons for the older generation

The final of II Mobile Photography Contest among the students of Silver University was held at Satbayev University. This year, 86 people between the ages of 55 and 90 took part, submitting 369 works - almost twice as many as in last year's competition. This activity confirms the growing interest of pensioners in self-expression through art and involvement in the university’s cultural life.

Photo contest was held in four categories, covering both personal and family moments, as well as socially significant topics. The winners and laureates received medals, diplomas and memorable gifts, and the jury, consisting of professional photographers and artists, noted the high artistic level and sincerity of the works presented. Many of the pictures surprised even the experts — they conveyed the emotions and atmosphere of the moment so accurately. There are almost twice as many entries as in last year's competition. The given activity confirms the growing interest of pensioners in self-expression through art and involvement in the cultural life of the university.

The exhibition of the best photographs, organized jointly with Active Longevity Centers of Almaty, showed that age is not an obstacle to creativity. Silver University project, led by Academician Bakhyt Sharipov, continues to successfully implement its mission to involve the older generation in active scientific and cultural activities, proving that it is possible to learn and inspire at any age.
