Satbayev University team took 2nd place at HackNU 2025 with the project Aitys.ai

Satbayev University team won the second place at the prestigious HackNU 2025 hackathon held in Astana. Student project called Aitys.ai was marked in the machine learning track from Higgsfield.ai. company.

Four students from Automation and Information Technology Institute joined PUNKVERSE Satbayev University team, who had to create a storyboard with Aldar Kosse in 24 hours, preserving his image on all frames and building a logical, coherent story from 6-10 images. Satbayev University team successfully completed the task by offering a solution combining an artistic approach and precise machine learning algorithms.

The new service was named Aitys.ai – it's an artificial intelligence that turns a short text query into a full-fledged illustrated story. The service independently writes a plot in the given style - from a Kazakh folk tale to a gloomy Lovecraft - and creates a series of 7-9 frames with captions, preserving the characters’ recognition and the narrative’s logical sequence.

HackNU traditionally gathers the strongest young developers in Kazakhstan and the region, bringing together students, researchers and startup teams around ideas that shape the future of technology. This is not just a competition, but a space where new ideas are born and career opportunities open up for future IT leaders. This year, special attention would be paid to machine learning and generative systems. For Satbayev University team, the hackathon not only became an opportunity to prove themselves, but also inspired them to search for new solutions in the artificial intelligence sphere.
